The Palestinian Forum of Education and Health Training, which is holding a meeting in Doha, called for establishing a special fund to support the health care sector in the Gaza Strip in order to coordinate related efforts in this concern with other supportive Arab or foreign institution.
Hosted by Qatar Red Crescent since last Saturday, the experts and specialized persons in health training , have reaffirmed the importance of holding an annual meeting of the forum to coordinate the communications regarding the required programs and projects to support this sector in Gaza.
The forum also called to form a specialized entity in coordination issues, to be the main source responsible for studying and approving the related programs and projects.
In addition, it called for the coordination and cooperation with other Arab and international educational institutions ,like the Arab Board for Medical Specialties ( The Arab Board) and make the necessary arrangements to get the accreditation of these institution for the Palestinian Medical Council.
The participants called for adopting the policies, strategies, criteria, and matters related to medical education, while conducting a comprehensive survey to determine the needed requirements and priorities related to the educational and health training sectors, in the short and long ranges.
They also underscored the necessity of upgrading the coordination and integration levels among the medical , nursing ,and health institutions , as well as with the supportive health specialties, in addition of reviewing and developing the theoretical and practical curriculums in the Gaza Strip.
The forum agreed on implementing programs of specialized studies, through providing some scholarships for specializing abroad for Gaza students according to certain restrictions and criteria, after carrying a complete study about certain researches and estimations coming to the forum.
