The Jordanian Lifeline committee headed by former dean of engineers Wa’el Al-Saqa declared during a meeting held Tuesday in the compound of the Professional Trade Unions that preparations already started to launch an intensive campaign to collect donations for the besieged Palestinians in Gaza.
Eng. Saqa, in a statement, said that the campaign aims at preparing a Jordanian aid convoy consisting mainly of building materials to be shipped through the fleet of ships that will set sail from Turkey next month to contribute in reconstructing Gaza Strip.
He added that the committee will start receiving the financial contributions as from next Wednesday at the premises of the Trade unions against official receipts.
He explained that the committee will also start to communicate with all civil institutions, syndicates, popular committees, and charitable organizations to discuss with them means of cooperation, pointing that the campaign aims at extending the suitable aid that represents Jordan’s people, as we did with Lifeline 3”.
Meanwhile the secretary general of Jordan trade unions, Ziyad Khalifa said that the committee was formed last week within the trade union framework to collect relief and donations to support out brothers in the besieged Gaza Strip through land and sea convoys, in an attempt to break the heinous blockade.
He added that the Trade Unions has started to communicate with the concerned bodies to know the most needed relief items to be transported to Gaza Strip.
