With advent holy month of Ramadan, the Zakat unit at Qatar Charity has completed its preparations to facilitate the process of Zakat-giving through its staffers in head office, branches and section of relations with philanthropists, and by specialized experts for the purpose of helping donors to calculate their Zakat.

This unit of 100 staffers is characterized with a specialized team in the field of Zakah and Shari’ah understanding, besides calculations and collection on the basis of modern accountancy, in addition to public relations with the philanthropists in this respect.

Abdullha Bim Hussein Al-Nimah emphasized that this unit was established three years ago to work round the year, while focusing its efforts during the holy month of Ramadan.

He added that the charity is ready to welcome the donors and facilitate receiving their Zakat , help them in calculating , and answering their queries.

It is worth mentioning that the specialized unit of Zakah at the head office can offer different services of Zakah : to individuals and companies via analyzing their budgets in details.

The unit can also estimate any company's properties in order to define items that should be considered and those that are not. It offers specialized services in relation with Zakah of animals, professions and contracting, in addition to answering questions on Zakah in general.

Al-Nimah also explained that Qatar Charity (QC) aims at delivering the Zakah and alms to the needy people inside and outside Qatar, while giving priority to the most affected Islamic countries in Asia and Africa.

QC is one of the largest charities in the Gulf, its activities covering more than 40 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe, through its registered field offices in various countries or local civil societies as implementing partners.
