More than 12 vans and vehicles , heading to Gaza and laden with humanitarian relief, have entered the Algerian territories coming from Morocco , to mark the second time that the land boarders open between the two countries ,after the first time that took place last year for the passage of Lifeline 4 aid convoy.
The Algerian daily “ Alshrooq Alyoumi” said that 17 vans and vehicles have joined the said convoy so that the total number became 29 vehicles laden with big quantities of foodstuff and medicine.
The convoy which carries the name of “ Roads to Hope “ was organized by Bristol Gaza Link Association in Britain.
The coordinator of the convoy ,Mohammad Al-Haddad said , while entering to the Algerian territories that “ This convoy has no relation with the politicians or party members, and it includes 67 international activists from various nationalities of Arabs and Europeans.

Humanitarian convoy : |
Al-Haddad added that “ this convoy has no relation with any political faction ,nor with any of those convoys being organized by “ Viva Palestina” of former British MP George Galloway, but it’s a non-politicized and a humanitarian convoy “.
He explained that the timing of launching this convoy was decided since a long time ago, and it has many projects to the benefit of Gaza Strip people, most important of these projects is “ Al-Quds-5 convoy”.
He expected to arrive into Gaza Strip by the 24th of this month, in case of not facing any political obstacles or others like mechanic breakdowns, pointing that the Political leadership of Algeria has given the green light to facilitate the easy passage of the convoy and has coordinated with the Moroccan authorities in this concern.
Al-Haddad also expressed his thanks to the Algerian President Boutaflikah saying “ we were not surprised by his supporting stance to the Palestinian issues, and to our besieged people in Gaza, hoping that other political leaders in Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt will follow suit President Boutaflika.

He noted that the convoy will stay in Algeria for two days according to the physical and psychological readiness of the international activists to reach Gaza, let alone the safety of the vehicles and their technical situation to continue the voyage.
The “Roads to Hope” convoy was slated to transport the relief material through a sea line from Barcelona to Tripoli , then to Al-Arish and Gaza, but the green light was given by Morocco and Algeria , in addition to the difficulty of the sea way made the organizers deciding to adopt the land voyage.
