In line with the directives of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah in UAE, the Sharjah Society (SCS) has launched a campaign to dispatch relief materials to the people of Somalia and the Horn of Africa region hit by famine.
Secretary-General of the SCS Mubarak Abdullah Dukhan said at a press conference on Wednesday that Sheikh Sultan had donated Dh10 million for the campaign.
He appealed to philanthropists, businessmen and residents, willing to contribute in this campaign to relief Somalia, to contact the society or to deposit donations in the society's bank accounts.
