The Jordanian participants in the aid convoy “Miles of Smiles 6” ,coming home from Gaza, conveyed the respect and appreciation of Gaza inhabitants to the Jordanian people and professional associations for their continued support ,since the last Israeli war on the strip.

The delegation’s president, the lawyer Ziad Khalifa said that the delegation has implemented an intensive program of site visits for many places in Gaza that were destroyed by the Israeli war, while the delegation members were received and welcomed, on both popular and official levels.

These statements came during a press conference held at the headquarters of the Professional Association complex, at Shemaisani neighborhood in Amman.

The Jordanian delegation that visited Gaza with the convoy of “ Miles of Smiles 6” took notice of the difficult situation and suffering of Gaza inhabitants , beside the obstacles that are still there on the Egyptian side.

Khalifa added that the Jordanian delegation felt very proud when they visited the Jordanian military field hospital , which is providing its medical services since years.

He explained that the military Jordanian hospital had provided medical care for about 600 thousand cases, while a ceremony was organized to honor the staff of this hospital during the delegation’s visit.

Khalifa talked, in the press conference in Amman, about the difficult situation of Gaza inhabitants, especially those living in the tunnels area near the borders with Egypt, and who are transporting even the building sand to Gaza, through these tunnels.

He also pointed out that the Jordanian delegation met with Justice Minister in the caretaker government of Gaza, and discussed means of raising more lawsuits concerning the crimes committed by the Zionist entity in Gaza Strip.

Khalifa explained that the role of professional associations in supporting Gaza will continue, noting that they have met with a number of Gaza officials to study the urgent needs and possibilities of ensuring their needs in the future.

He added that the committee “ Relief Gaza Hashem” that was formed by the professional association has financed many projects and infrastructures valued at $ 3 millions, that was allocated for health, education, and other projects, in addition to school and sport projects.

He also said that the delegation also provided aid material valued at 2 million euro , through its participation with the aid convoy of “Miles of Smiles 6” which was consisted of 80 participants coming from various countries of the world.

For his part, Dr Yousef Arabiaat , member of the Jordanian medical delegation of the convoy said that the Jordanian surgeons have carried out many difficult surgeries, that were not possible to be done in Gaza Strip due to the difficult situation and limited capabilities under the Israeli siege.

He added that the medical delegation met with the health minister of Gaza caretaker government to get acquainted with the health situation of Gaza, noting that the professional associations are contributing in supporting and training the Palestinian health staffing in various medical specialties.

For his part, Hassan Abu Hamzeh , the representative of the contractors association in the aid convoy said that the Jordanian professional associations were the first people to enter Gaza Strip aftermath the Zionist aggression, within the framework of its national efforts to support the Palestinian brethren.

Al-Hammouri ,said that the contractors association has donated 700 thousand Jordanian dinars to rebuild Gaza, noting that the Jordanian contractors have visited the projects carried out by the association.

He explained that the contractors visited the health center of Atatrah valued at $70 thousands, while the Jordanian association is actually carrying out the rehabilitation of Beit Hanoun health center valued at $75 thousands.
