  Dr.Ahmad Bahar paid tribute to the support of Miles of Smiles for the Palestinians

Dr.Bahar welcomes the members of Miles of Smiles 7 in Gaza

The solidarity activists of the aid convoy “Miles of Smiles 7” were received and welcomed by the representatives of The Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC),under the chairmanship of Dr.Ahmad Bahar ,the first deputy the PLC chairman, at the headquarters of the council in Gaza.

Dr.Bahar paid tribute to the convoy and to the humanitarian and brotherly sympathy with the Palestinian people, and hailed their efforts to reach Gaza under the ongoing siege for the fifth consecutive year.

He expressed thanks and appreciation to the convoy’s efforts saying “We appreciate this visit that demonstrates your love for Palestine, while you are carrying medical assistance to the Palestinian patients, and to Palestinian children in particular".

"Thanks to your efforts, your are supporting the Palestinian cause, and the Palestinian children who were banned from being treated abroad due to the blockade, today you drew a smile on faces of our children and their parents”, Dr. Bahar added.

Dr. Bahar also talked about the Zionist measures against the prisoners, and how they are deprived from their simplest rights being guaranteed by the international law, calling all international, humanitarian, and legal institutions to exert effective efforts to release all prisoners, underlining their just cause that needs the support of all free people of the world.

He highlighted the suffering of Gaza citizens due to the ongoing oppressive siege ,that led to increasing the number of patients banned from traveling abroad, and consequently increasing the death toll.

He added “ We would confirm to you that our people do not bargin on the principles of its freedom, and its independence “ noting that our people chose reconciliation in order to maintain the Palestinian constants.

“ We confirm that reconciliation is a strategy of our people, and it is a national, humanitarian , and legitimate necessity” Dr.Bahar elaborated

Continuous support :

For his part, the general coordinator of the “Miles of Smiles 7” Dr.Issam Mustafa expressed his happiness for coming again to Gaza to deliver the medicine for its patients saying “ We would like to thank you for your steadfastness and your help for the Palestinian people to live in dignity”.

Dr. Mustafa also pledged to continue bringing assistance saying “ We are with you and will remain so, because the Palestinian people were subject to aggression, displacement, killing, and detention, while their homes were destroyed”.

The deputy of the PLC,Dr. Mahmmoud Al-Zahar praised the role played by the convoy in renewing its visits to Gaza to reflect a message of support and solidarity to the Palestinian resistance and the Palestinian people.

He also reaffirmed that such convoys are strengthening the will of all the categories of our Palestinian people, in challenging the occupation and in continuing to demand our legitimate rights until the establishment of our independent state.
