RCA's relief programmes to displaced Syrians will continue

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, and Chairman of Red Crescent Authority (RCA), paid yesterday gratitude to Emiratis and resident good-doers for supporting a nation-wide RCA-sponsored fund-raising campaign to relieve Syrians displaced to Jordan and Lebanon by the unfortunate events in their country.

Sheikh Hamdan said the charity drive had delivered its aspired goals for rallying support for the affected Syrians, showing solidarity with them and drawing attention to their humanitarian situation.

At a meeting with RCA aid workers who returned home from Jordan after delivering UAE humanitarian assistance to displaced Syrians, Sheikh Hamdan thanked the volunteers for their relentless efforts to alleviate suffering of the displaced Syrians in Jordan and Lebanon and improving their living conditions.

'The RCA's humanitarian initiatives towards the displaced Syrians in Jordan and Lebanon will continue unabated until the exceptional circumstances that drove them out of their homeland were cleared,' Sheikh Hamdan affirmed after he was briefed on the overall humanitarian situation of displaced Syrians in Jordan.

Sheikh Hamdan wished success to the third RCA group of aid workers who departed to the Jordanian capital, Amman, two days ago to complete the humanitarian mission.

The RCA has intensified its efforts to carry out the first phase of its relief program which covered distribution of food ration, heating and sanitary wares in nine sites in Amman and on Jordanian-Syrian borders.
