The aid convoy of “Miles of Smiles 10” visited the Islamic University of Gaza yesterday.
By Adli Al-Baraqouni - Humanity Voice - 2012-03-14

The aid convoy “Miles of Smiles 10” visited the Islamic University of Gaza yesterday.

Despite the continued bombardment of the Gaza Strip by the Israeli terrorist forces ,the participants in the aid convoy of “Miles of Smiles 10” yesterday visited the Islamic University of Gaza, and viewed the latest development that were achieved in various academic, constructional, and social levels that link the university with other regional and international universities worldwide.

Dr.Jamal Al-Khudary ,chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Islamic University welcomed the arrival of the convoy’s delegation , and hailed the significant role played by “ Miles of Smiles” , considering it as the most successful in breaking the Israeli siege by visiting Gaza ten times within a series of aid convoys.

He also praised the keenness of the Arab and foreign solidarity activists toward the Palestinian people, while reaffirming that these efforts would strengthen the Palestinian attempts to live in dignity and to restore their legal rights as guaranteed by all international laws and norms.

Appreciated efforts :

For his part, Dr. Mohammad Mussa Chabat , Vice president of the academic affairs expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Arab and Islamic prominent women who came to participate in this convoy and to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian woman.

He pointed that the series of Miles of Smiles convoys reflect the international and Arab solidarity with the Gaza Strip under the ongoing Israeli attacks and oppressive siege.

Dr. Chabat accompanied the visiting delegation and briefed them on the developments achieved by the Islamic University in various scientific, and academic domains without stopping its services despite the severe blockade and continued Israeli offensive.

The humanitarian aid convoy of “ Miles of Smiles 10” arrived to Gaza Strip last Saturday through Rafah crossing, expressing and stressing its will to continue the preparations for new convoys, despite the continued Israeli attacks until breaking the siege completely.

The solidarity campaign of “ Miles of smiles” convoys is considered the most successful in breaking Gaza siege, after succeeding in reaching besieged Gaza for the tenth time during the last four years, despite all the obstacles encountered in its long way.

The campaign succeeded in bringing all kinds of medical assistance of missing medicine, electrical wheelchairs for special needs, and baby milk for newborn children direly needed in Gaza.
