Under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani, the Qatari Red Crescent organizes the third camp for disaster management during the period from 1 to 8 April at the Sea Scout Camp in Al Khor.

The camp will be attended by over 150 participants, including employees of several institutions and government bodies and members of national NGOs as well as representatives of a number of Arab national societies.

The camp events include many scout activities as well as theoretical and practical trainings, using relevant international standards and concepts.

The last day will witness the execution of scenario of a virtual disaster, with wide participation of national institutions and bodies.

The objectives of the camp include improving the ability of the Qatari Red Crescent and the Qatari community to respond to disasters, gathering a team of Red Crescent volunteers in disaster management for better and more effective response and improving coordination between associations and national institutions in responding to disasters.

The Qatari Red Crescent has been working since 1978 in various humanitarian and relief fields, focusing on helping people in hardship, regardless to their gender, color, race or religion.
