The UAE's Red Crescent Authority (RCA) yesterday joined the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in celebrating the World Red Cross Red Crescent Day, themed " Youth on the Path", which is observed on the eighth of May every year.
RCA participation comes in the framework of UAE's wise leadership directives and senior management of the authority.
People across the world celebrate World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day on 8th May every year in order to recognise the efforts of National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies across the world to advocate for the relief of human suffering from disease, post war consequences, disaster, etc.
As 8th May is the birth anniversary of the founder of Red Cross Henry Dunant, the volunteers of the Red Cross as well as general public observe this day as World Red Cross Day to give a tribute to Mr. Dunant (the founder of world's largest humanitarian movement in 20th century).
