INTRAC announces a series of training courses for NGOs |

INTRAC, a leading non-profit organization working in the international development and relief sector, has announced three training courses titled Advocacy and Policy Influencing, Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation, and Partner Capacity Building.
The first course, Advocacy and Policy Influencing lasts for five days and is scheduled for the period between 08 September 2008 - 12 September 2008. The course gives you a thorough understanding of how to influence the policy making process in your own context. You will learn skills to help you formulate and plan effective advocacy strategies. Improve your ability to lobby decision makers, and gain confidence in relating to the media - give new life to your campaigning!
The second course, Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation, is scheduled between 22-26 September 2008. Monitoring and evaluation is essential in providing greater accountability for civil society organizations; it can also provide unique information about the performance of policies, programs and projects. On this course you will learn how to begin designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems enabling you to understand the different realities and perceptions around you.
The Third course, Partner Capacity Building, is scheduled for 6-10 October 2008. This course helps to understand capacity building at different levels in the context of inter-organizational and social partnerships. It looks at cutting edge issues such as reverse accountability, transparency, and how donor power affects relationship dynamics. Learn a range of models and tools associated with designing and implementing organizational capacity building initiatives with partners.
Moreover, INTRAC has released a book titled Rethinking Monitoring and Evaluation which can be purchased directly from INTRAC.

INTRAC's mission |
INTRAC works in partnership with other CSOs, state, corporate and multi-lateral actors, to influence policy and programs working towards sustainable livelihoods in just societies.
Research into trends in global policy and practice informs INTRAC advocacy and activities which strengthen the capacity of CSOs wherever they are located.
Through training, consultancy and public events, INTRAC promotes the work of CSOs and those supporting them especially in the rehabilitation of civil society where it is endangered or suppressed, working for the inclusion and empowerment of the poorest and most marginal groups.
As an international NGO that serves civil society and endorses gender equity, INTRAC’s participatory approach draws on long experience as a member of the global NGO community and from its own organizational learning.
The skills of INTRAC’s ethnically diverse staff are complemented by the expertise of associates, board members and international alliances and partnerships to ensure that INTRAC services are relevant and of the highest quality.
